For some reason I am obsessed. Obsessed, obsessed, obsessed with this movie, and I haven't even seen it yet! I'm in love already with Joseph Gordon-Levitt's character, and the rest of the movie, I think I'm in love with that too. It looks like this will be a good one. The funny thing is, as cynical and annoying as this sounds, I hate romantic comedies and mainstream genre-y types. Jon must really hate me, but my Netflix queue is only filled with documentaries, foreigns, and awkward, non-big budget selections. Granted this is an independent film, but still, it's kind of a love story. A love story that tells the truth.
After not being able to find a showing in Detroit, I went as far as calling up the Landmark chain of movie theaters (The Maple Three and Main Art in Detroit), and requested that they'd better get 500 Days of Summer in their line-up or I'd just....I'd just, just whatever, I'd just be broken hearted.
LUCKILY, the Birmingham 8 has picked it up and 500 Days starts tonight in an exclusive engagement. I am VERY bummed that due to many circumstances, Jon and I can't go this weekend, but it is my sole missing, to find a way to see it this week.
In the meantime, enjoy this Trailer, and check out Zooey Deschanel rocking those bangs. I've been contemplating Zoey-esq bangs for a while, but I'm too chicken.

Aw, that does look good. Wish I could get myself to the movies to see something other than secret agent guinea pigs and wizards...
Even though as a rule I hate romantic comedy, this actually looks good. I feel like you've had those bangs at some point and I liked them. Go for it!
Don't tell Aimee, but Zooey Deschanel is my secret girlfriend.
I want to see this movie. I'm not a romantic-comedy kinda person, but this looks good.
