Red Rocks

One of the coolest things I did on this trip was visit the Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area. I have a colleague with a place in Summerlin, near Las Vegas, and this area is in the mountains behind his house. It's about 20 minutes from the Strip, but you'd think you're on another planet.

There are a number of wonderful scenic drives and tremendous opportunities for bike riding, rock climbing and exploring.

This rock is amazing! Those are fossils!

This rock's amazing too! Those are petroglyphs from the native Americans who inhabited the area. The earliest inhabitants were there in 3500 BC.

Just a reminder to be careful.

Cool pics! There's a red rock formation just outside of Denver or Colorado Springs (don't know which - it has only been 25 years since I was there!) and I remember it being awesome.
