The Chassidic Rebbe Name Generator......I ask you, what more could you want in life? These are the wise words of I, ...the holy Reb Zalmy Gedalyahu Stein of Obrin , also known as the 'TIVOer Rebbe'. Don't call me Lauren anymore.
Okay...since I am assuming that was a Jewish link...and I'm not Jewish...I need an explanation. I put in my name, and this is what I got:
You are very wise, humble and pious, Kendra... from this day forward you will now be known as the holy Reb Avigdor Yechezkel Lynn of Lizhensk , also known as the 'Heroiner Rebbe'...now let your chassidish adventures begin, your talmidim are waiting!
I don't understand at least two of the words in that paragraph. Help please? :)
Hey Kendra! Thanks for the comments. Sorry it's taken a day to get back to you on this. :) We've just been busy around here. Ok, good questions... "Rebbe" simply means "Rabbi". It's just another way to say it. I think "Rebbe or Reb" is mostly used by chassids (chassidish),a sect of orthodox Jews. "Talmidim" is "students" in hebrew! I hope this helps you out. I had to decifer mine too, pretty new words! :)
Not a problem, Lauren. Now that I understand what it said, I feel much better. :) Of course, I don't consider myself to be a true Rebbe. :) Unless you count teaching Sunday School. Does that count? lol Love you.
I finally got around to clicking on the link. Here's my new name...could've used it in junior high when I thought Laura was boring...You are very wise, humble and pious, Laura... from this day forward you will now be known as the holy Reb Laibie Nota McLean of Karpovichi , also known as the 'Bangitouter Rebbe'...now let your chassidish adventures begin, your talmidim are waiting!

Friggin Sweet...
Okay...no one else answered my comment yet, so, Rabbi-in-training Daniel, what does Rebbe, talmidim and chassidish mean?
Just call me the holy Reb Nachum Yechiel Griscom of Mozole ,
also known as the 'Beatie Boyer Rebbe'.
Kendra - I have no clue what all that means, but I am fairly confident that it won't fit on the scantron sheet of an SAT test!
Maybe someday I will get an answer to my many questions...someday.
:)
