In Vitro Garden

My colleague just ordered us some of these "Tokyo micro gardens" from Dirty Microbe, and they are amazing. It's a cell phone charm that contains a tiny live cactus, and the nutrient goo in the jar keeps it alive for several months, assuming you don't drop it often. All of the product information is in Japanese so I don't know anything else about them, but it is it is tough to stop looking at the thing.

That is actually quite cute! I'm going to have to look into that!

I've tried ordering these from thinkgeek.com, 5 out of 8 were dead on delivery.

These have a big problem of dieing in the mail. when they die i ordered a replacement. Out of 10 that i ordered, only 3 survived. I think that its best to have them delivered when the weather is 80 degrees or less.
