Pot Luck

We had a big meal at the office today. Here are my "cappucino crinkles," which are chocolate cookies with coffee and cinnammon.

I had my first White Castle ever. You know what it was like? Every other slider I've ever had in Detroit.

Which is not to say it wasn't good, it was just not a new taste. They sure went quick.

Today was not about proper nutrition....

...by a long shot. Everything was good though, and eating communally in the warehouse is always fun.

Forget White Castle, hit up Hunter House Hamburgers off of Woodward and Maple.

They've got the best sliders in Michigan.

ok, i can't believe i missed this blog entry..
but more importantly, what is a slider?

A slider is a small hamburger, popular in the Midwest. Usually it's very greasy, and I have never been able to really determine if the name originates from the grease on the burger or the way they slide through your system. Melted cheese and grilled onions optional, and best with a Coke or a milkshake and some equally greasy fries.

So, you keep saying you're in "Detroit", yet you don't know where Garden City is, and you've never eaten a White Castle?

Poser.

You're in yuppie land, Birmingham. Don't flatter yourself by saying you're "from Detroit".

The Garden City line was a joke from 2 years ago.

I've never said I'm in Detroit. I'm near it, I've worked there and I care about what happens to it. I would guess that I have spent more time there than many people who grew up a few miles from it. If I've never had a White Castle it might be because I grew up in Toledo, and the closest one to me growing up was probably in Ann Arbor. You're calling me names but you're commenting anonymously - why do you even care?

I'd probably like to get to "yuppie land" as much as the next guy, but I have a way to go on that one.
