I've missed you! It's summer. Noah has been out of school for a month now. Day camp has just started, so I'm trying to blog again. I hope to post more frequently!
You've given me an idea though. So many of you have asked if I had old pictures from the beginning of my gray hair journey, especially pictures of my short pixie cut. I always refer people back to a few of my original gray hair posts, but there aren't many photos. While I was sorting through my Flickr account recently, I realized that I've taken SO MANY pictures of my hair these past years. A SHAMEFUL, EMBARRASSING AMOUNT of pictures. :)
I'm the first to admit that the number of hair "selfies" is a bit on the self-indulgent,crazy side, but I think that I have THREE very legit reasons for taking these pictures and none of them include the reason of purely being for social media strutting. (Phew!)
So for my newly silver "Silver Sisters," and for those of your who have already traveled this bumpy road, I give to you THE END ALL AND BE ALL OF A GRAY HAIR BLOG POSTS - IN PHOTOS!!!! (Remember, I'm already apologizing for the nauseating amount of selfies, ok)?

Hi, my name is Lauren. I write on my blog called How Bourgeois, often times about my journey as a girl going gray. I didn't really want to be this gray, this young, (I started in my early 20's and now I'm 38) but increasingly severe allergic reactions to all kinds of hair dye put a stop to coloring. I tried henna for a couple of years, and while it was neat, the work each month, the hours and the smell of wet hay just wasn't worth it in the long run.
I'm the first to admit that this photo-album is a bit crazy. I SWEAR, I'm not selfie-obsessed. I'm really not! What I am, is somebody who's been documenting my journey. I've snapped quite a few pics, sometimes for hair stories on the blog, sometimes for myself to remember a certain way I styled my hair and sometimes just for posterity. You know, to remember the good times and the bad times of all this going gray.
It was other women, other Silver Sisters, who helped ME get through my own transition, especially in the times that I felt so low and incredibly embarrassed to leave my house.
So, I'm putting this album out there for you newbie and want-to- be sisters, in hopes that it might show you what it is like along the way. AND, to prove that it's not so so bad- that in fact, life with gray can be OK!
