Update, Clothes, Stuff

I've been on Weight Watchers now for exactly seven months. It's starting to get old. I'm not quitting, I'm NOT! But when you get down to such few points, as your weight drops, my goodness, there are days I just feel so tired and hungry. Good food choices are the key, I need to be mindful of filling, healthy foods. I used to enjoy my tall, non-fat, no whip mocha (3points), but now when I have just 21 points to work with in a day, even those three points seem like a big chunk to spare. I'm just about at the 40 lbs. lost mark! Wow. Even I can say wow, how did I get this far?
I'm 6lbs. from my MIDDLE SCHOOL weight, which doesn't say much other than..."Wow, you were a fat middle- schooler!" Actually though, back then I was playing lacrosse and rollerblading like crazy, I was solid, and smaller, just heavy from being so muscular. (I won the girl's bench press in my gym class.) I was also the SAME height. Stopped growing at five feet. Poor me.

The best thing that has come from this so far is that for the first time in my life, I'm not feeling completely insecure when I walk down the street. Really, for the first time since I was a child, I go through the day without worrying about what other people might think of me. It feels great. Of course I still have frequent times, many situations when I do feel very self conscious, but slowly those moments are becoming less frequent, and I'm able to feel more at ease in my skin.

The other great outcome from this diet is that I can wear things that I truly like! Before, I just never seemed to look good, I never felt right. Clothing didn't fit so well. Now, it's like a miracle! Well, that's how it feels to me.

So here is my shopping route as of late:

1.) I buy my jeans online at Gap because they make them in petite length. They're cute, they fit and are made well enough to with stand lots of washing. They are also not super expensive. You get your money's worth, lots of use.

2.) Sometimes I pick up basics and fun extras at Target. For example, they carry yoga pants in petite length, $20! I also found my winter jacket for $39.99. I like the GO International pieces because there is always something new, and I'll tell ya, these earring I got last month, have had a hundred compliments....$7.99!

3.) My favorite place, oh world, MY FAVORITE PLACE....the sale racks at Anthropologie. Do you even know!? I'm telling you...you can find amazing deals at the best prices! I will occasionally splurge on full price items, but I take very good care of my clothes and I only buy pieces that can be worn for at least two season out of the year , then I go on to wear them year after year.
Also, my secret weapon...My Mother, who so kindly bought me some Anthropology recently.
Here are a few recent Anthros that I have acquired in the past month:

The orange dress from above (Urg. No online photos. It's so much fun. Need to get a better pic.)
Hailstones Shirtdress
I tried this one on, and I'm telling you, you should buy it, it's on sale!
Valais Tee in pink.
Thermal top with three little bows, in eggplant
The sweetest bag, on sale, have to take a picture, patchwork and embroidered tulips.
I would like this vest, but was too cheap to buy it because even after being on sale, it seemed like a lot of a vest with tax and shipping. Couldn't find it at my local Anthro anymore.

Hee hee...I really want to try on "The Plain and Fancy Dress" next.
Yes please.

You are an inspiration! Maybe someday I'll get around to joining WW myself, but for now I am just a bit envious of your loss! :-) Congrats, it is awesome and I hope you continue to feel great.

Lauren I'm so happy for you. Ditto! I truly understand how you felt. Isn't it a shame that any of us should feel that way but c'est la vie. Can't wait to see you in person.
