Yesterday I received a slightly bad report back from the sitter when I returned home. Apparently after a heated game of Thomas The Tank Engine, Noah yelled at her and called her "Impetuous!". While I did shutter in embarrassment for his little name calling outburst, and I do feel badly for our beloved Lauren, I did have to admit having no idea what "impetuous" really meant.
That was ok though, because Lauren had no idea what it meant either and had to look it up online, mid-time out.
Jon walked in the door from work around 6:00. I told him about Noah's moderately rude description of Lauren and chuckled at what that must have sounded like coming out of a three-years-old's mouth. And then I went on, out loud, wondering where in the world he got that word from. "Impetuous?" I said. "Jon, do you even know what that means?"
"Of course I do" Jon replied. "Wait, don't you know it too?"
Well, I don't know it....exactly..., but at least now I know where our son gets his fun vocabulary from. My SAT vocab studying, quiz bowl champion, brainiac of a husband. That's where. I suppose it's time for me to start hitting the books. I have one of those vocab books in the basement somewhere...

I suppose there are worse things he could've said than to say that she was impulsive! I had to look the word up too. Oh, the words and phrases that come our of our kids' mouths, eh? He's going to keep you on your toes, no doubt. :) Jon, it seems that you have a Mini Me.
Okay, what happened to the adorable picture???
Oh yes, the adorable picture...Jon asked me to take it down. I guess little green hair clips don't go over well with guys...Thanks for noticing.
LOL...Impetuous...that is GREAT. I tell ya...Noah has the makings of a true child prodigy.
Love ya.

Hilarious! I so thought I was going to read at the end, "What he ACTUALLY said was ____." I am impressed.
