C'est la "V" for Vote

Today I was sent THIS Candidate Quiz by my friend Garrett. It indicated after asking me several questions about key political issues, that my closest match in candidates for 08' was democrat Chris Dodd. This is great, except for the fact that who is "Chris Dodd"? I was relieved after a slight panic attack that indeed I am still compatible with Barack and good ol' Hill....after Kucinich that is.
Anyway hey, check it out and let me know who you are paired up with! And remember kids; let's get out of Iraq soon, vote "yes" on stem cell research, universal health care whoo!, our bodies, our choice!, Marriage= two humans who love each other, the death penalty..ewwwww.

My candidates are:
John Edwards-37%
Rudi Giuliani-32%
Barack Obama-32%
Hillary Clinton-32%

Personally, I like the platform of Obama, so I can see myself casting my vote for him. I can honestly say, however, that I have not done my research when it comes to Edwards. I guess I have some reading to do. Interesting quiz.

My Candidates:

Joe Biden - 44
Chris Dodd - 42
Hillary Clinton - 39
Barack Obama - 39
John Edwards - 36

Joe Biden and Chris Dodd, well, neither are likely to get on the presidential platform for the Dems, so it's down to Obama, Clinton and Edwards - of the three, I think Edwards is the one who I'd most likely back. I campaigned for him and Gore in the last election, so I think my loyalties are already pre-existing.

I don't have an issue with Obama or Clinton, but I think they're going to end up splitting votes, and my main concern is the Dems regaining power in the executive branch and get us out of the mess we've been in for the past 8 years.

My candidates are:
Kucinich 50
Dodd 47
Obama 46
Clinton 46

Maybe I should volunteer on the Kucinich campaign! I didn't realize that we were so close.

It reminds me of the 2004 election, when our friends Jacob and Joel drove all the way from Toledo to the West Coast in a rented Monte Carlo with a big magnetic Kucinich '04 sign on the side. They visited us in California, and we went for pizza. Even thought Kucinich lost, I learned some important things from their visit.

a. We went to a pizza place we had never tried before, and I learned that I like black olives on pizza.

b. "Hey Ya!" was a good song. It had just come out, this would be fall 2003, and Jacob had the CD in the car, so I made him play it a lot.

I know this is tangential, but it seems appropriate. Blogs are so terrific for free-associating.

Mine:
Kucinich-36
Richardson-34
Gravel-31
Paul-26

How in the world did Ron Paul sneak in there? I'm a big supporter of Kucinich's platform, but I also understand that he ahas about as much a chance of winning as I do.

Like just about every election I've voted in, I'm sure this one will come down to the lesser of two evils. It's unfortunate that there are so few candidates who actually have the guts to take unpopular stances, and those who do (Kucinich) aren't taken seriously.

I am very concerned that Bill Richardson stated that it would be appropriate for water-poor states in the Southwest like his own (NM) to appropriate water from the Great Lakes. There are currently more people living in the Southwest than the water sources can support. Too many people moved to the desert and were unwilling to make concessions in their lifestyles, and people outside the region should not have to keep their totally unnatural lawns and golf courses watered. They need to live with that decision and figure out how they will fix their problem with the resources available in their area.
