She was a very Reproductive Member of Society

No, I'm not pregnantt but I just felt like typing that after I drew a cartoon of a big Mom with ten kids. All I could think of to title it was : "She was a very reproductive member of society". I like to play with words sometimes. You know who's pregnant though? THIS chick. I'm so happy for them! She asked Sarah if I "spazzed" when Sarah told me. I guess I'm pretty predictable huh?

One more wonderful baby news. My good friend Laura and her husband Ben just had a baby girl! She is BEAUTIFUL and named Cara. Cara now makes Caitlin (equally as gorgeous) a big sister. I hope to meet Cara someday, they live in Colorado now. When I met Caitlin, I just melted, she was so adorable and only four months old. Laura is always such a positive person, with a huge heart. I really admire her, I'm lucky to have such great friends!

So, this is just a mish mash post with some updates. One thing I would like to tell you is that I bought liquid eyeliner. To me, make-up is so much fun. I love putting it on. Some times, maybe a bit too often, I look a little Tammy Faye-ish. That's ok, I don't care. I guess I have naturally long lashes (thanks Mom) and for some reason, my mascara makes them look over done if I'm not careful. Anyway, I was reading an old article form the 1960's in a British Seventeen magazine. It was written by famous model and first wife of George Harrison, Pattie Boyd. Pattie has beautiful eyes, or maybe just beautiful eye make-up and she explained how she got them to look that way. One of the keys was liquid eyeliner. So, I bought some and it's great! I know this isn't an exciting update, but at least it's something.

Well, today I went in for my two hour glucose test. It wasn't too bad. I had three blood draws and one finger poke. I have to say the finger poke and the waiting quietly for two hours was the worst part. It wasn't too bad though. I don't want to get ahead of myself or jinx the results, but what I can tell you is my glucose at the beginning of the test was very good and all I can do is hope the all three blood draws were also good. I'll give my doctor a call on Friday to see if my results are in. Otherwise, I might not know until next week. What I can tell you is that they took my blood for my baseline fasting glucose level. They also at that point did an instant glucose level check with a meter and that said I was at 78, well within normal range, actually at the low end. This does not guarantee that I passed the rest of the test, some people can have normal fasting levels, but glucose that spikes too high after having the sugar drink. I do hope though, that losing some weight and eating well really did bring my level down twenty points and back to my normal from last year, that would be great. I'm sacred and hope that the rest of the test was normal. I hate waiting. Cross your fingers, say a prayer and I will update when I know more.

Yeah, so that's another thing. With the help of weight watchers and being able to get into the gym, I have lost just about 10 pound in the past three weeks! I feel really really good about this and will keep going. AND guess what!? This is big news! I might become a water aerobics instructor!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am more excited than I can tell you. There is a water aerobics class that I began taking just before our wedding. I then went nearly every weekday while pregnant with Noah, even on the day I went into labor! I had finally found an exercise that I really loved doing and made so many friends in the class. Actually, I was the youngest regular class member on average by about 40 years. Isn't that great? A bunch of very fit bubbies? I say bubbies because the class is at the JCC. Anyway, the water aerobic classes at the J. have steadily become more and more crowded over the year. Last week, during one class I was asked to count and lead an exercise on the deep end of the pool while my teacher took the shallow end. I loved it, I had a ton of fun! So, on Tuesday I approached my instructor and told her that I loved leading the class and that if she ever wanted me to take one end of the pool during class and count for her, to let me know. My instructor said: "Funny you say that because I thought I would train you to become an instructor so you can have your own class". WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was on cloud nine and so flattered. She is the director of the aquatics program there, so this is a big honor. Susan, my instructor, said that I communicate well with everyone in class and that I'm fast, so she thinks I would be a great leader. Wow!!!!!!! I am so excited about all of this. I could have a little job, get in shape and I think it would just make me happy! We might have to wait a while, until Noah is in school or on a schedule where I can commit to teaching, but isn't this great!?

Well, It's getting a little late, I should get some sleep. Talk to you again soon!
Lauren

Aww, thanks for mentioning me in your post! :)
Also, congrats on possibly becoming a water aerobics instructor. That sounds like something I would enjoy if I could find a place around here. Then again, I'm not quite ready to leave Cara by herself yet...in time...

WOW, Lauren, that is GREAT! I am so proud of you!

Liquid eyeliner reminds me of my mom. She always looked great with it on, but she always complained about how difficult it was to apply with her shaky hands - a neurosurgeon she is NOT!
