Old Friends

I saw a lot of my favorite people last week. In fact, I think I even liked most of the strangers I met. This is Ilya meeting me on 2nd Avenue after I got off the Subway. Note his recent kickball finger injury, a real tragedy. He was one of the greats.

We met our friends Tom and Naheed for dinner and had a great time, and then Naheed's husband Danny met us for my second dinner, which commenced immediately after we left the first restaurant. More later. Lauren, Tom, Ilya, Naheed and I all lived in Case Hall (North Case. South Case was lame) our freshman year at MSU and have been friends for 9 years. 9 years! I've known these people a third of my life, I love that we still all see each other. Not nearly enough though.

I keep telling you to read George's blog, and this is the man himself, see here with his wife, the lovely and mysterious Lady J. They're both great, and we had a great dinner, at the place that claims to have invented the soup dumpling (I don't buy it).

This is my friend Charlie, who I have been friends with since our junior year in high school in Toledo. He's an actor, and I didn't get to see as much of him as I would have liked because he was rehearsing for Hamlet last week. I think he was playing Polonius, but it was pretty loud in the bar at the W.

Amazingly, I ran into one of Noah's pals during the course of my work. It really is a small world.

I am sooo jealous you got to meet Miffy. Was the weird crocodile Charlie there, too?

Aw, man! And you didn't get an autograph?

Cool that you got the chance to see so many friends, though!
