A Wrinkle in Time

It was so funny and amazing to see some of these long, lost photos from Tom. I thought I'd share a few. Those were the days...

Tom and I were what you would call "natural Japanese". Being Asian came naturally to us.

I love this picture. Tom looks adorable and Ilya is every ounce the mysterious Euro-man he is. This was taken when they went to San Francisco for Y2K!

I'm sorry, I just can't get the layout to work. The type is way higher than the corresponding photo, but I think you'll get it. Here is Tom, Ilya and I at the East Lansing Folk Festival years ago. This is a great fesitval. My favorite that year was "Inca Son".

Ok, this is a very rare photo with both Jon and I in it before we were dating, when we were in college. It was taken at my house on Ann street. As you can see Jon, Tom and I are eating Thai food along with a few friends. What was I wearing? Uncle Atsu is in the back and in the foreground is Masa. Remember him? He came to visit in January and my allergy inducing house almost killed him!?

When we were living in SF, so was a good friend of ours, Denis. Denis is a genius. Harvard BEGGED him to come get a phD from them and do some research. So he is, and it seems he has a very interesting life. Before, when this picture was taken, Denis has a cushy job with Microsoft. He decided on a whim to buy this huge caddy and drive to New York to visit Ilay. Before leaving, Denis gave us a ride. It was huge, and he floored it and I screamed.
