Jya Nee Masa.....

Ohhh....poor Masa. He had to go home to Japan today. I'm so sad because he was supposed to stay until February first, and this was great being that we hadn't seen him in over three years. What happened was that my cat and some Mellon nearly killed him. Yeah, the poor guy had one heck of an allergic reaction to something, or more likely some things. Masa has had eczema his whole life and and an over sensitivity to environmental allergens like animals, dust, chemicals. Usually he's fine, but for some reason after eating some fruit on the plane ride over, his skin started to burn and itch very badly. I'm sure my our cat added to his reaction and soon the guy was covered almost head to toe in a rash. I took Masa to the emergency walk-in clinic and what they could offer him was cortisone steroids. He's not supposed to take them anymore and after four days of pain without relief, we all knew Masa had to head home to his doctor. I just feel so badly for him, we all do. Hopefully he will be ok and get this episode in check. It's the worst he's ever experienced he said. Once he's away from our dry, cold air, dust or mold, cats and American pesticides, I bet he feels much better.

We did have a really great time while he was here. It was just so sweet how good Masa was with Noah. Noah instantly found a best buddy in him, it was really cute. We ate and shopped and drank coffee; and on the last night we had a pizza party. I know, nerdy...

I'm going to miss Masa very much. I saw him almost everyday for over four years at Michigan State. He's truly one of my best friends ever...I just hope it won't be another three years before we meet again.

Those are some awesome pictures - Lauren, are you working on a scrapbook for Noah? Just curious (as I dig myself out of the mountain of photos that are taking over my dining room!).
