9-Month Checkup

9 Month Checkup

Today we went to see Dr. Singer for Noah's 9 month checkup. I can't believe that Noah is almost 9 months old!!! Time is flying by so quickly. It's kind of sad. :(
His appointment went really well. Here is the run down. Noah had a toe prick and didn't even notice. The blood they took let us know he has very good iron! Then we found out that Noah is 27 inches long and weighs 21lbs. 7oz. I took a guess before they weighed him and I was just 1 oz. off. You go Mom! That puts Noah in the 15th percentile for height and 70th for weight. His height/weight ration was a little off the chart, but Dr. Singer said Noah is actually in a downward trend on his weight, so he's not worried. Some babies grow a ton the first 6 months or so and then around 9 months, slow way down. Jon and I asked about his height. We love Noah at any height but hope for his sake that he is a bit taller than Mom and Dad. Dr. Singer said with the basic estimate from out height, Noah should be about 5' 4" BUT according to Noah's growth chart, on their curve, it puts him at 5'6.5". Wow! My son would be over a full 1/2 foot taller than me! What a giant! We'll wait and see and be so happy with whatever happens. Noah has 4 upper teeth about to errupt!

Dr. Singer gave us the go ahead for a bunch of new finger foods and said that since Noah isn't super interested in teh bottle anymore, it's ok, just be sure to get 12oz. in. I was surprised! That's just 2, 6oz. bottles. I'll just let Noah be my guide, I can tell when he wants a bottle. Right now Noah's favorite foods are yogurt, chicken and broccoli!

He's doing great. Only one shot today, and he took it like a champ.
