There was an era where women went natural but got caught up in self worth issues to society and its whims with worry over husbands and fourteen other things. It cost people alot more then was ever gained.. Fifty years later, people are rediscovering their own self worth and that it's worth ten times anything else.. That's awesome, and you used the PERFECT word, it does feel liberating, doesn't it!? Thank you for sharing your story, that's inspiring!

I haven't even thought to try a glaze at home, but that is really interesting. I used to dye my own hair, so I guess glaze, why not! The only thing I feel cautious about at home is with the blue color. My stylist put in a little to take out my brassy tones. I might end up smurf color at home. That said though, I bet you could totally do a clear glaze at home yourself!

Yes! I totally what you know about the "more natural" make up brands having so many chemicals in them as well. For the past couple of years now, I've only used two make up brands. One is Origins because they don't use parabenes. I like their make-up products very much, but they aren't 100% natural. Some ingredients I don't love. They're the best, fairly affordable, most natural brand that I've found. BUT.... for a bit more money, I absolutely LOVE Vapour Cosmetics. They are 100% natural and their make-up just glides on. You can only buy them online, but they're very helpful. You can also order little samples too. In fact, I was JUST about to go to Vapour to see if there is something I want for Christmas! :)

As far as shampoos, and styling, I've mentioned before how much I adore Shea Moisture's products. All of their shampoos and conditioners and their "hair milk" which tames frizz and makes your hair soft! You can find them at Target.

I use Bert's Bee's moisturizer right now. They have a new-ish product that is intense moisture for the face.

Other than that, I'm pretty low-maintenence. :)

I hope this helps Beth. It's very nice to meet you. Thank you so much for your comment. You've inspired me!
xoxoxoxo,
Lauren :)Laurenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05093968853372697053noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9902677.post-50267501041935063702013-12-12T12:00:46.751-05:002013-12-12T12:00:46.751-05:00I love this! My sister recently convinced me to wear bike shorts at a hotel gym (with no one in it) and I was like, "No way!" and then I finally did it (lack of other options) and it was liberating, akin to your legging experience.

Please do post a list of your favorite natural make-up, skin products, etc. I tried to switch to some "organic" make-up and the ingredient list looked as awful as the regular stuff!! But you always look so fresh-faced and pretty so I would love to know what you use.

Have you ever tried doing a hair glaze yourself? Just curious.

BethAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9902677.post-75508363591370581592013-12-12T07:59:16.699-05:002013-12-12T07:59:16.699-05:00Oh my gosh Loulou! I love Queen Street West!

Totally, leggings aren't PANTS! Ha! I'm sure though, that you look sultry in your jeggins.

Thanks so much Loulou! :)
xo,
Lauren Laurenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05093968853372697053noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9902677.post-12722090178439836342013-12-12T02:44:43.874-05:002013-12-12T02:44:43.874-05:00Hahaha ...your story about giving in to leggings m...Hahaha ...your story about giving in to leggings made me laugh. I've always worn them but really as thick (read : warm) tights and always under a skirt or very long top. To quote my online friend Vix 'Leggings are not pants'! I also got myself a pair of jeggings (jeans that are stretchy and narrow-ish like leggings) that I turned out to love. Those JAG ones you found sound very nice indeed.

I used to live a few steps away from the Queen Street West Lush store in Toronto and the smell was so intense around the whole area that I've never been able to bring myself to go in. But those bath bombs do sound enticing.

Your hair looks fantastic, you sultry person you.Loulouhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13304074858377805437noreply@blogger.com
