Whaaaaa!

Whaaaaa! Boo Hoo.
Sometimes I miss the old days when my craft room wasn't hijacked by a play room. Sometimes it's nice to just have a quiet place to yourself. You know?

We went to Pita Cafe tonight for a quick dinner. Noah was perfect! We've know the owner and staff for a long time. They watched Jon and I date and then marry, saw me through my pregnancy and now know Noah! They treated Noah to some banana before his chicken and hoummus and then to the best rice pudding for desert. Yum!

The Coolest Babysitter on Earth

My parents rock. They had the most totally fabulous man and his boyfriend babysit for us. Roland was the window designer at one of my Father's Roots stores. I remember the night that he made me these gorgeous glasses out of some paper he had. Roland showed up with lots of crafty supplies and went on that night to make an unbelievable celophane jungle of trees in my parent's living room.

Lauren and I got video chat! Only six years after everyone else. This is going to change everything.

Keepin' it Real

Remember a while back, Jon and I posted that we wanted to "keep it real" on the blog? We wanted to write about true life, no censorship. I don't know if that has haappend, but right now, I would like to keep it real for y'all. Here for real, is the most nerdy picture that has ever been taken of me. Here I am in 3rd. or 4th grade. Note the banana shirt, knee socks and Sally Jesse Raphael glasses. Now that's keepin' things real!

A Little Noah Update

Well, it's official, not only does Noah now have his first real shoes, but also his first, real winter coat! I looked everywhere in the past month for a coat that was warm, fit well and was tough enough for lots of playing in the snow. I finally found THIS coat at Baby Gap. I need to order a size that was out of stock at our local store. It came by UPS today, I was a little more excited then Noah.

In other news, Noah has a new word. He can now say "Bye bye" when waving goodbye. Today I caught him waving at and chatting up a large plant blowing in the wind outside the window. He thought it was waving back. Maybe he thought it was hitting on him.

Also, Noah is very into singing right now. La-la-la-la, he goes around singing in a high pitched voice. I usually start the Elmo song or the Itsy Bitsy Spider and he joins in with La-la's.

Finally, I think we'll have a walker soon! Noah is really getting around with his baby walker. The problem is at home, there's not alot of room to walk without furniture getting in the way. He tries though, but I wish you could see him go at our baby gym playgroup. Noah can walk all around the large room with their walker. He's very fast!

I often avoid restaurants with Noah these days because sometimes it's just hard, especially when he doesn't feel like sitting. Today I decided to try again and take Noah for a little "Lunch Date". He was a good mood and ready to eat, so we ran over to our local Coney Island. I'm so proud to say that Noah was such a good boy. He even ate a grilled cheese sandwhich and had a glass of milk with a straw. I love my good boy, we need to go on "Lunch Dates" together more often.

Oh! Please pardon the odd exposure on some of the pictures. I had the wrong setting on the camera.

Chocolate Math

Someone sent this to me at work, and I was surprised to find out it actually works. Math is cool kids. Read on to try this, and I am sorry that I don't know who to attribute this to. If it's yours email so I can credit you.

YOUR AGE BY CHOCOLATE MATH

DON'T CHEAT BY SCROLLING DOWN FIRST!
It takes less than a minute....... Work this out as
you read.. Be sure you don't read the bottom until
you've worked it out!

1. First of all, pick the number of times a week that
you would like to have chocolate. (more than once but
less than 10)

2. Multiply this number by 2 (Just to be bold)

3. Add 5.

4.. Multiply it by 50 I'll wait while you get the
calculator.................

5. If you have already had your birthday this year add
1755....

If you haven't, add 1754 ......

6. Now subtract the four digit year that you were
born.

You should have a three digit number .

The first digit of this was your original number
(i.e., how many times you want to have chocolate each
week).

The next two numbers are .........

YOUR AGE! (Oh YES, it is!!!!!)

THIS IS THE ONLY YEAR (2005) IT WILL EVER WORK, SO
SPREAD IT AROUND WHILE IT LASTS.

Noah seems to have trend going at school. He's always the last kid to finish up at snack time. As a matter of fact, for the last two classes, he's sat there eating straight through the end of class until everyone else has gone home! The guy just snacks away and gladly misses parachute and bubble time. Normally I'd wrap up snack time sooner, but since he has been on a hunger strike on and off recently, I'll gladly let him eat through any bubble blowing.

A few weeks ago Noah and I went into a children's shoe store to get an idea of what kind of shoe he would need. They had long benches to sit on and lots of nooks with mirrors and toys for the kids to play in. The sales woman came up to measure Noah's foot. After that she said how old is he and I said ten months. Then she asked if he was crawling, cruising, walking and could he stand. I said "Yes, he can stand very well, he cruises". Then the woman picked up Noah and tried to make him stand while holding onto the bench, thus seeing that he could cruise. Right away Noah let go and fell to the ground and tried to head for the toy nook. The sales woman tried again and as my ever persistant son is, Noah did the stop, drop and roll. "Oh, he's not standing very well. Don't make your Mommy out to be a liar"! Said the sales woman to Noah. I was so angry at her. HELLO! I'm not that type of parent. I said to her "I swear my son can stand and cruise, he's been standing since six weeks. She just looked at me like .."sure he did..." Well, HA! Lady! Here's a pic dated from when Noah was 6 weeks old. The kid wouldn't sit on our laps, he stood. Nay nay lady.

Carve your pumpkin without the mess! HERE'S a cool site I came across. You can virtually cave a pumpkin. It's actually quite cool. Once you're done, print it out or e-mail it along as a Halloween greeting.Just an FYI,this doesn't make up for carving the real thing. Don't be a halloween "Ba-hum-bugger".
